Education

Collège

At the end of primary school, the collège marks the beginning of secondary education for students. It is organized into four levels, from 6th to 3rd grade, and structured into pedagogical cycles.

6ème: Last Year of Cycle 3, Consolidation Cycle
The 6ème year aims to help students adapt to the organization and environment of the collège, while ensuring continuity of learning initiated in the first two years of the cycle (CM1 and CM2).

Special emphasis is placed on their adaptation to the secondary education system.

5ème, 4ème, and 3ème: Deepening Cycle
The goal is to allow students to develop skills across different subjects and interdisciplinary programs.

Special attention is given to developing the students’ orientation project.

The academic journey provides adolescents, who are navigating new relationships with themselves and others, with a framework that allows them to grow in a trusting environment and acquire essential competencies in new knowledge and technologies, especially digital. They are expected to tackle interdisciplinary situations with personal and creative thinking, while respecting rules that are part of a shared culture.

At the end of 3ème, students take the Diplôme National du Brevet, a French state examination.

Education at Collège is Organized into the Following Subjects:

In 6th grade, Life and Earth Sciences, Physics-Chemistry, and Technology may be grouped under the subject “Science and Technology.

Common Foundations of Knowledge, Skills, and Culture

This term refers to the set of knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes necessary for success at school, in personal life, and as a future citizen. From primary school through the end of collège, students progressively acquire the skills and knowledge needed to master these common foundations.

Cycle 4

The school years 5ème, 4ème, and 3ème make up Cycle 4, which is the deepening cycle.

Thanks to all the knowledge acquired throughout their education, adolescents develop a different relationship with themselves and with others, allowing them to build essential skills in relation to new knowledge and new technologies.

They will be able to approach interdisciplinary situations with personal and creative thinking while respecting social and cultural norms.

Libertad
